I would just like to thank the sweet baby Jesus, laying in a manger, for my terrific Chevy Trail Blazer. The leather seats heat my butt in these below freezing temps, the sixth and seventh seats fold down for extra room where my dogs travel, but most importantly the four wheel drive gets me safely around these snowy roads. Although I hear plenty of grumbling from Pittsburghers who aren’t fans of the snow, I can’t bring myself to complain. Snow is so pretty, especially the giant flakes that are falling today. I think if my vehicle weren’t so reliable I would have a worse attitude towards snow. Today I am in awe of the simple beauty a white blanket creates while being grateful that I was able to acquire my SUV.
Unfortunately I can’t get my silly cell phone to email me pictures. I wanted to show you my trusty SUV when I left at lunch to come home and check on my sick puppies. Good news is the boys are feeling MUCH better. Happy Friday to all.
And, ya know, GO STEELERS!

A dear friend is doing “plagerism week” and used this site for his post today. Just like I always ramble before posting an image, Shiny has an introduction. Just as I usually get friends or strangers that I meet to go ahead and show me some skin, Shiny had a little help with his first HNT. It was funny and sweet. If you have a moment, I seriously highly recommend you check out Shiny’s Takeout to see his parody of my site and his very first HNT.
ANYhow, back to me. As you know, my beloved Steelers are going to be playing in football’s biggest game this Sunday. I’m so excited. The town is in a frenzy and I love the electricity in the air. When I was trying to think of how to incorporate the Steelers into a post that is way overdue, I took the easy way out:

Yep, one quick tattoo (and it totally counts!):
On another note, Wednesday I returned from Florida and decided to get my oil changed before I went to pick up the dogs. This is the sign in hanging the customer waiting room:

Now why did that make me think you all would want to see it?
Happy HNT. Thanks for stopping by. If you haven’t checked out Shiny’s fun post, get over there. If you are already done at Shiny’s and desire to see other HNT participants, check out the folks over at HNT’s HQ.
Today is the last day of my vacation. Headed back to the Burgh this afternoon. Damn.
This was a great trip. Lots of laughter. Much needed time away that included good girl time. And I got to see the sun! Plus the food. Oh my fuck, the food! Love the south.
On the drive from Orlando to Charleston we detoured to Savannah, home of Paula Deen’s restaurant. We decided to hit River Street instead of going to Paula’s place. I was so hungry that I dug in before I ever thought to photograph my food. Do I get points for taking a photo of the sign on the side of the building after I was full and happy?

I hadn’t had fried green tomatoes in years. The memories of eating them in happy situations are probably better than the reality of actually consuming them, but in Charleston I certainly enjoyed these:

Grits make this Yankee girl happy. Add cheese and shrimp and I will do the happy girl wiggle. Although I have found that brown gravy totally takes away from the awesomeness that is shrimp ‘n grits so I scraped it off.

Both of the above were devoured here:
(And yes, we did giggle at the name of the restaurant because we are mature like that. Suck it.)
Another tasty restaurant in Charleston delivered spectacular barbecue. (Never hesitate to ask a cute construction worker where they would eat if they had their choice.) Loved my baby back ribs!

And the cheese biscuits themselves are worth a trip. I swear I could have eaten nothing but them and been a happy, happy girl.

My camera battery died while we were out for Adam’s birthday dinner at all we can eat meat. Texas de Brazil was phenomenal so it is a shame that I can’t chronicle that evening. And the cute little eye candy didn’t hurt either…loved our little gaucho boys. In fact, I seem to remember overhearing “I want to take him home and have him feed me more meat” more than once.
P.S. The photos yesterday were both taken by me while dining at Hyman’s in Charleston. Both images might even have been the same photo, just cropped differently. I did take two different pictures, but then I sort of forgot how I cropped them. I blame the fucking bleach Britt put on my head. (Oh yes, she totally “highlighted” my hair. And, ummm…wow. hehe)
Ok internet. I need your help. Looking through photos that Britt has taken over the past few days and checking out the images I have captured…well, let us just acknowledge that I am not a great photographer. In fact, I really don’t have a photographer’s eye. And I am cool with that. But, I am curious as to whether or not you like either of these photos (and if so, which do you prefer?). Be honest, I can take it. (Thanks for the help in making me a better photographer!)
I call this “Full plate of boiled peanuts”
I call this “close up of bald peanuts”
After you tell me your thoughts, I will tell you who took which photo and with what camera. I might also share a photo or two of Britt trying these bald peanuts for the first time. Funny faces. Especially after she accidentally threw peanuts out the second story window onto folks walking past. True story.
P.S. I managed to get a few decent photos at Adam’s birthday “all we can eat meat” celebration, but those will have to arrive another day. Maybe the video also will show up. Not sure.

Today is Adam Avitable’s birthday. Britt and I made sure to return to Orlando from her Savannah and Charleston birthday adventure in time to celebrate Adam. Not exactly sure how going for “all we can eat meat” celebrates Adam the way “run away to a few new cities” celebrates Britt, but we are going for it.
All I know is that I adore Adam too much to sing to him, so rest assured, there will be no Marilyn Monroe style performances of Happy Birthday from me. I might, however, get drunk and sit in his lap. Or, ya know, ask his wife if I may lick his nipples.

Happy, happy birthday, Adam. You are so very loved!
The drive from Orlando to the Charleston area was fun. We saw cows. Did you know there are cows in Florida and Georgia? Did you know that if Britt wasn’t driving that she would have taken photos of said cows? Did you know that Savannah is a fan fucking tastic little side trip for lunch? Did you know that drinking a half of a massive bottle of sweet tea infused vodka won’t kill you? Or even make you sick? Although it surely does give a massive headache. And I don’t mind a bit. Coz I am about to head to downtown Charleston, bitches! Woot!
P.S. There will be pictures, I promise. Although they will probably be funnier to me because I titled them all as I took them (“I call this one, Boat Without Water.” “I call this one, “Taking Photos of Bigass Girl Statue While Our Car Gets Towed.”).
A while back Britt suggested a weekend getaway in celebration of her birthday. Naturally, I couldn’t pass up the adventure. Which means I arrive in Orlando around noon. Yay! A few days at Britt’s house, a road trip in a cute little convertible, a wild weekend in South Carolina, some time driving Adam crazy celebrating Adam’s birthday, the opportunity to visit with Faiqa again, a few beers with Jared, plenty of laughter with Devin and Emma…what more could a girl ask for?
I know what! A girl could ask that her friends don’t catch a glimpse of said girl’s bra and said girl could hope that an alleged friend won’t holler something along the lines of “Holy shit, one cup is bigger than my head!”
Then again, a girl could ask that her friends don’t try to prove the point that one of their heads fit in the bra in question while the other friend photographs the so called fun. Oh yeah, I could ask for that.

I could ask, but I probably won’t get.
I haven’t responded to comments in about a week.
I haven’t been to Twitter in four or five days.
I haven’t read my favorite blogs in longer than I am comfortable with.
BUT, I am happy and healthy. And I will get back into the swing of the internet soon.
Know that you are loved.
P.S. Thanks for all the great congratulations to the Steelers and to Pittsburgh. Very appreciated. As you can imagine, I am all about happy to see my team head to the Super Bowl again. One for the thumb, baybee.
It finally snowed some last weekend. Yay! It was only a few inches, but it made me happy.

Apparently I am not alone in my love of the snow. Seems my boys do as well.

Actually, it’s just Ludo who loves to play in the snow.

Reilly? Not so much. He tolerates it because I am out there, but he’s the first to the door when I say that we are done.

For the record, Lou is pretty happy inside with a plastic lizard to carry around instead of the big red ball. When I walked into the house, his favorite squeaky toy was awaiting. (Years ago this lizard was on top of a tasty adult beverage, The Lounge Lizard from North Park Clubhouse. A few years of being carried around by a little German boy unfortunately resulted in the loss of a toe or two, but really it is no worse for the wear.)
Reilly, however, just wants to lay on my head while I lay on the couch.

The woman with me in these photos just had a birthday:

We are running away for a weekend to stay with this woman:

Is it me or do they kinda look alike?
Anyhow, I’m so excited. So much to do between now and then, but dammit I’ll get it done. Because I am really looking forward to vacation. And celebrating that someone was born. Just hope we have enough fun to keep Britt awake! Or is it enough fun to have her pass out again?
